Outlining of story plot:
The story proceeds with Gaitonde killing his traitor ally Jojo and running totally desperate and calling the police(he is not an idiot, trust me). He calls a police inspector sartaj in Mumbai and without revealing his location (by using weird telephonic equipment) and implores him to save Mumbai from a hell bent killings in 25 days.
Meanwhile, Sartaj uses his friends in intelligence and tracks the call back to a construction site near a mall In Mumbai. When he reaches there, he finds a reinforced bunker. First in the morning, a bulldozer cracks open the bunker and sartaj enters into. By seeing him, gaitonde does a little comforting chit-chat with gaitonde with sartaj and commits suicide.
And then whole series runs in two parallel stories, one in the past starting from gaitonde's childhood, scribing his whole life till he did suicide. And in the present, how sartaj struggles in his divorced marriage, office politics and investigating this weird suicidal crime lord.
Overtime, he teams up with a anjali mathur,a RAW intelligence officer. But even she got killed by Malcom,the real left hand of Guruji. Interesting fact is, Guruji used to address Gaitonde as his left hand ,but deep inside he knew that gaitonde will cause trouble for his grand plan. Anyway, by using insights provided to him by gaitonde before death,he solves many mysteries like who is trivedi (and let me tell you,this was quite a deep suspense which gets resolved in the final episode of the first
season).
