One of the most popular web series in India, Sacred Games, got its 2nd season released on August 15th’s midnight in 2019. As expected as its preceding season, it was well waited for by many fans. Resp[onse was a mix of thumbs up and criticism regarding the subordination of lead character Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) and other aspects. Especially, the open-ended climax was very catchy( we had anticipated its open ending!).

Sacred Games Season 2 CAST :
In the first season,
two stories are run in parallel; one in the present, where a divorced police officer Sartaj(saif Ali khan) investigates the tip regarding an organized mass cleansing of Mumbai offered to him by one time Mumbai Don Ganesh gaitonde; aka Gaitonde; while in the past, the whole journey of gaitonde, since he was a kid and hoe he transformed himself into a crimelord controlling the whole Mumbai with his accomplice.
With the passage of time, he makes some friends, some of them turn into enemies. Eventually, he gets to meet with Guruji(Pankaj Tripathi), the culprit of whole cleansing being organized for more than 20 years.
In the second season,
those two stories are taken forward. In the present, officer Sartaj’s investigation takes leaps and finally, he knows where has the atomic explosive been planted. While the story in the past gets carried forward up to it reaches the beginning of presently running story in season one.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui acts as Gaitonde. His character is a really ambitious one. He aims for the whole Mumbai but he gets trapped into the gurujis master plan. Then he lives the worst days of his life in jail, after which guruji presents himself as his savior, very easily convinced him to be his accomplice in weird cleansing operation.
But somehow, he recalls how much he loves his Mumbai and tries to stop the havoc about to be wrecked on Mumbai in 25 days. His character leads the whole story and has his own fan following.
Gaitonde makes first friends with Matthu. Mathhu abandons gaitonde after getting scared from threats by Gopalmath’s junkyard lord moment. though gaitonde gets successful in killing Momein dramatically and establishing his brand in the underworld, he meets his old friend in jail.
His second accomplices were Chhota Badariya and bada Badariya, two Muslim brothers in Gopalmath. Chhota Badariya and the sister of Bunty were lovers. Bunty never accepted their love and every now and then harassed his own sister.
He was quiet antimuslim by his nature, so he did make troubles for Muslims of Gopalmath. This was outrageous for Bada Badariya, who shook hands with Suleman Isa, an old foe of gaitonde. After knowing this backstabbing, gaitonde killed both brothers.
One of the most famous characters, Trivedi, an old disciple of guruji and quiet a wicked scholar, met with gaitonde as a messenger of guruji.
Sacred Games is filled with loads of interesting characters and very solid acting. The story takes many sudden and interesting turns. Each episode uncovers many secrets. Characters have very diverse personalities.
Though the language is strong for sure, with lots of cursing here & there. But the plot is designed very nicely, to avail viewer with vibes related with current scenario.
Sad thing is, thanks to piracy, creators bear the loss on their fair earning. Shooting such great content requires tons of money, not to mention hard work as well. When it comes to their reward, their major revenue falls prey to piracy. Many governments have set laws to fight piracy. We don’t support piracy at all.
